WF Wilco Fence Quotes

What a fence costs in Williamson County

Cedar privacy fence: $28–$45 per linear foot installed. A typical quarter-acre backyard is $4,000–$9,000.

Repairs: $300–$1,500. Staining/sealing: $1–$3 per foot.

The per-foot number swings on post type and how much rock is in the ground — the two things that also decide how long the fence lasts.

Measure your fence line in feet for a rough estimate. A standard suburban backyard is often 120–250 linear feet.

Where the money goes

Line itemWhat moves it
Linear feetThe base of the quote. Everything is priced from your perimeter.
PostsWood posts are cheapest and fail first. Steel posts (e.g. PostMaster) add cost but roughly double fence life in this soil and sun.
Rock / calicheHitting limestone slows post holes and raises labor — genuinely a Central Texas cost that doesn’t exist in soft-soil markets.
Height & style6-ft privacy is standard. 8-ft, board-on-board, cap-and-trim, and horizontal cost more in both material and labor.
Gates$150–$600+ each depending on width and frame. Metal-framed gates last longer.
Old fence removalTear-out and haul-off of the existing fence is usually a separate line.
Stain / sealOften quoted separately — but skipping it is how a $7,000 fence turns gray and brittle in five years.

The decision that decides fence life, not just price

Steel posts plus early staining. A cheap wood-post fence with no sealer is the one leaning and graying by year six. Steel posts resist the rot and wind that kill wood posts, and staining protects the pickets from UV. Paying a bit more on posts and committing to re-stain every few years is the difference between replacing a fence once versus twice in fifteen years.

Get the HOA rules into the quote

If your subdivision dictates height, style, or stain color, tell the builder up front — a quote for the wrong fence is worthless, and a fence that violates your HOA can mean a forced rebuild at your cost. Builders who regularly work Sun City, Wolf Ranch, Teravista, and Forest Creek usually know the rules; confirm anyway.
